Hamilton Marsh Night!

Did you know there’s a huge wetland just five minutes from town? It’s 5 km long and 1/2 km wide. We will be sharing the amazing values of Hamilton Marsh.

We’ll show our Hamilton Marsh Movie, then it’s onto our special guest speaker! We are so excited to have guest speaker Elke Wind from E. Wind Consulting as our guest speaker for Hamilton Marsh Night! Ms. Wind has been a self-employed contract biologist since 2002 and has been studying amphibian populations for 30 years. She specializes in the habitat associations and requirements of amphibian populations in relation to impacts of timber harvesting, non-native species, rural and urban development, and linear infrastructure projects.

Ms. Wind has constructed and restored 20 wetlands and has been involved in the installation of underpasses that provide safe migration pathways for amphibians; has written and co-authored numerous amphibian related reports for government, species recovery teams, and non-profit groups such as NatureKids BC, the Society for Northwest Vertebrate Biology, and Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, as well as giving educational presentations and training for government staff, First Nations, students, and the public.
